Case study
The case
Take It started as a personal project outside of client work: an event manager built to cover very different kinds of events — video-game tournaments, movie screenings, ceremonial events — under a single data model. It ended up reused as a school project.
The design challenge was making "event" mean very different things depending on the case without the system needing a special structure for each type: the same foundation had to serve both a competitive tournament and a ceremony.
The project was built with a Next.js, Tailwind CSS and TypeScript frontend, a Laravel backend on PHP 8.4 and MySQL, and a React Native mobile app built with Expo for managing events from a phone.
